Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School has been designated a Title I Distinguished School for the 2019-2020 school year.
The honor goes to schools either in the top 5% in achievement, the top 5% for academic growth, or has made the greatest gains in achievement for all student groups.
“This is very exciting and we are honored to receive this recognition,” said Thomas Knepper, principal at Thaddeus Stevens Elementary. “I am proud of the Stevens teachers, staff, students, parents, and the entire Stevens’ community for all of the hard work and dedication required to earn this designation.”
The school will be honored at the 2020 Title I Improving Schools’ Performance Conference in Pittsburgh Jan. 26.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Division of Federal Programs and Pennsylvania Association of Federal Program Coordinators (PAFPC) hosts that conference.
