MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP — The search for a Mercersburg man missing since Sunday continued today, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Police and search and rescue groups have been searching for Gregory Alan Cole, 51 since he was reported missing after not returning home from what now appears to be an outing on Sunday afternoon.
By Monday helicopters were in the air hoping to see some sign of Cole from the air. Search dogs were in use.
Troopers were being assisted by a tactical mounted unit, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat personnel, and about a half-dozen other rescue organizations.
Cole is described as being about 5 foot, 8 inches tall, weighing about 175 pounds, with hazel eyes and black-gray hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored, long-sleeved shirt and camouflage rubber rain boot.
Personnel from New Cumberland River Rescue group, Huntington County Water Rescue, South Central Pennsylvania Search and Rescue, MMPW Fire Company, the Maryland Department of Corrections and Franklin County Department of Emergency Services are also helping with the search.
Anyone with information about Cole’s whereabouts is asked to contact police at 717-264-5161.
