CHAMBERSBURG (AUG. 21, 2019) — Chambersburg Police Department often doubles as a community lost and found office.

Such was the case this week, according to the two most recent CRIMEWATCH® Reports that track crime in the community.

On Aug. 19, CPD took a report of a lost property consisting of checks made out to Sharon’s Styling Salon. The checks went missing in the vicinity of the Save-A-Lot store at 1025 Wayne Ave.

They were dropped or lost in the parking lot, according to police. If found, please return the checks to the Chambersburg Police Department. Sharon would be ecstatic.

At 11:40 p.m the same day, a blue suitcase was found near the Hood Street Parking Lot. The owner can claim his or her property at the police station on South Second Street.

Found blue suitcase. Claim at Chambersburg Police Department

The return of the blue hard-side suitcase to its owner would please officers who don’t consider their office a lost and found way station.
