Gerald Thomas George, 59, of Chambersburg passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born October 7, 1960, in Chambersburg, the son of the late James Jerome Sr. and Eveline (McCleary) George.

A hard working man who dearly loved driving tractor trailer trucks all his life; he enjoyed taking his grandson, Da’shawn as his riding partner, along with his son, Nico, who rode with him ever since he was 3 years old.

Gerald was always a people’s person with a kind and gentle heart. He was well loved and was known as “peacekeeper” for his truck handle. His hobbies were working on cars, playing basketball and spending time with his lovely wife and children. Gerald loved traveling, going on vacation to Florida, the beaches and meeting new people.

In addition to his wife, Mable Louise (Edwards) George, he is survived by his children: Tamiko Louise Burns, Johnny Lee Burns, Gerald Thomas George Jr, Shalonda Marie George, Chipquita Keosha George, Nyoka Bonta George and Nico Logan George. Preceding him in death were his: mother in law, Odessa Marie Edwards and brothers-in-law, Omega Edwards and Robert Junior Edwards.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
