Mar 26 – Become a Certified Tourism Ambassador
March 26 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
CHAMBERSBURG – Locals who want to promote Franklin County to visitors are invited to become official tourism ambassadors.
The Franklin County Tourism Bureau is offering a class March 26 to certify local residents as tourism ambassadors.
The Franklin County Certified Tourism Ambassador Program is part of a national program with over 50 destinations participating in the program.
It’s prime objective is to make every visitor encounter the best that it can be.
CTA Director Doug Harmon asks local residents to picture traveling somewhere they never been before,
“Would you return or stay longer if your experience were enhanced by endorsements from locals that you can count on,” he asks.
The Franklin County CTA Program is a half day certification program to train locals on the ins and outs of what tourists, visitors and people considering relocating to the area can expect to find here.
Since the program’s inception into Franklin County, the 11/30 Visitors Center has had more than 125 people go through the program.
Who’s eligible to participate? Anyone who is interested in taking pride in Franklin County, Harmon said.
“That’s pretty much it,” he said. “The Franklin County CTA Program is a ‘Take Pride in Franklin County’ Program.”
Everyone who successfully completes the program will become certified tourism ambassadors.
