WellSpan Health was recognized this month for its efforts to keep employees safe in crisis situations.

The health organization received a Critical Event Management Impact Award for use of its staff emergency notification system, Everbridge.

The award recognizes organizations creatively using the system to keep employees safe while ensuring business operations run as smoothly as possible during incidents.

WellSpan’s Chris Krichten said Employees rely on being in the loop when critical information is Ed..

Krichten, WellSpan’s emergency management director, said the system sends a text, email and voicemail alerts with the push of a button.

WellSpan received the award for its work in improving emergency communications across the health system spanning five South-Central Pennsylvania counties.

The Everbridge system can also send weather alerts to specific employees in the path of a storm. It also notifies them of safety events for situational awareness and information sharing.

“This notification process adds a layer of preparedness to the emergency operation plans of the health system,” added Krichten.

An independent panel of industry experts selected the world-wide recipients after closely reviewing all submissions.
