CHAMBERSBURG — The Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) school board approved the hiring of a new head varsity coach for the LadyTrojans basketball program Wednesday night.
Justin English will take over as head the varsity girls basketball coach In the 2019-20 school year.
English quickly emerged as a leader in a strong and highly-qualified candidate pool, according to a news release posted on the district’s website Wednesday night.
English’s coaching career includes stops at Indiana University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Interim Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Clarion University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
After moving to Greencastle, he most recently served as an Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Greencastle-Antrim High School for the past few years.
In addition to his coaching career, English holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education degree from York College as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from Clarion University.

English is excited to get started by attending scheduled open gyms, summer league games, youth camps, and more. He will begin his career at CASD by conducting a complete program analysis that will include meetings with the current Trojan staff and student-athletes.
“I would like to thank Athletic Director Jeremy Flores, Principal Brad Ocker, and the entire Search Committee and Staff for allowing me the opportunity to become the next Head Girls Basketball Coach for the Lady Trojans,” said English. “I am looking forward to getting started and am very excited to begin this new journey into the upcoming 2019 – 2020 season.”
