MERCERSBURG — A trapped motorist was rescued by local emergency responders late last night following a one-vehicle crash on Mercersburg Road.

First responders from Mercersburg Montgomery Peters and Warren Fire Company responded to a vehicle accident in the 4700 block of Mercersburg Road at 11:33 p.m. Saturday.

Crews arriving on scene found a pole sheared off and one vehicle off the roadway. An individual was inside with heavy entrapment.

The patient was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Meritus Medical Center.
