FRANKLIN COUNTY — A severe weather warning has been issued for central Pennsylvania this afternoon, including Franklin County.
National Weather Service says the county can expect severe thunderstorms this afternoon with damaging winds of 60 miles an hour or higher. Hail might be included in the mix. Hailstones could be around an inch in diameter, big enough to cause some severe damage, according to forecasters.
The storm could include what forecasters are calling scattered supercell storms that might create the right conditions for the formation of tornadoes.
Many areas might also see a repeat of the same weather conditions over the next two days also, especially west of us, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by NWS in State College today.
The outlook includes hazardous weather warnings for more than two dozen communities, including Franklin, Fulton, Cumberland and Adams Counties.
