MONT ALTO – Entering his fifth season at the helm of the Penn State Mont Alto men’s soccer program, head coach Tim Carey announced on Monday he has finalized the squad’s 2019 schedule.
In all, Mont Alto’s 17-match schedule features nine games against PSUAC competition and the Lions will play nine games at home.
Mont Alto finished 10th in the conference last season with a 1-12-1 record and had a 0-8-1 conference mark. The Lions will look to put the ball into the back of the net at a more consistent pace after averaging 0.71 goals per game, which ranked 10th within the PSUAC.
PSUMA begins its 2019 campaign with a pair of home games in consecutive days when they host Central Penn on August 30 and Mid-Atlantic Christian on Saturday, August 31.
Mont Alto will then host Manor College for a 5 p.m. start on Tuesday, September 3 before hitting the road for non-conference games against Central Penn (September 6) as well as Williamson College of the Trades on September 9.
The Nittany Lions return home on Saturday, September 14 for their PSUAC opener against Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
They will then play the University of Valley Forge on Tuesday, September 17 before squaring off on the road against the Patriots from Patrick Henry at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 19.
Mont Alto will then be tested by reigning PSUAC and USCAA National Champion, Penn State Brandywine when they come to town on Saturday, September 21.
Fall Schedule Features Annual Pink out Game
The schedule features a road trip to PSU York (Sept. 25) before closing out the month of September with its annual Pink Out game slated against Penn State Lehigh Valley on Saturday, September 28.
Mont Alto hosts Penn State New Kensington on October 1 before remaining on the road for PSUAC contests against PSU Scranton (Oct. 5) and PSU Beaver (Oct. 7).
The Lions play in their final non-conference match of the season on October 14 against Patrick Henry and play in their final home game of the season against PSU Greater Allegheny on Wednesday, October 16.
Mont Alto closes out the final regular season match on October 19 against PSUAC foe Penn State Hazleton at 3 p.m.
