FRANKLIN COUNTY — The County’s senior citizens will see a change in operating hours for Senior Activity Centers beginning next week.
County Commissioners said recent studies show most seniors use the centers in the mornings.
The exception was for occasional afternoon special events, according to a news release.
Several centers consistently had seniors who use the centers waiting for the doors to open many mornings.
The change in hours was in response to those studies.
“We strive to be responsive to the needs of our participants and feel that this small change in our hours of operation will benefit them in a big way,” said Traci Kline, Director of the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging.
The six senior centers have been open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Beginning Monday, March 18, the new hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The change won’t affect the centers lunch or home delivery meals programs.
Centers are located in Chambersburg, Waynesboro, Greencastle, Mont Alto, Tuscarora and Fort Loudon.
