GREENCASTLE — An 83-year-old Chambersburg woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Buchanan Trail West Sunday morning, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police did not identify any of the victims.

The woman was a passenger in a westbound Ford Focus driven by an 82-year-old Chambersburg man. The car was stopped waiting to turn left into a church parking lot when it was rear ended by a Honda Accord driven by a 65-year-old Greencastle man.

The impact pushed the Ford into the southbound lane, where it hit a oncoming Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 38-year-old Mercersburg man.

The two westbound vehicles came to rest in a grassy area in front of the church. The Jeep came to rest in the eastbound lane of the roadway.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Two of the drivers were taken to Meritus Medical Center in Washington County for treatment of their injuries. The third driver was taken to Chambersburg Hospital.
