Janet L Bard, 80, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 7, 2019 at ManorCare of Carlisle.

She was born January 19, 1939, in Carlisle, PA. Janet was the daughter of the late Jim and Elva Neidigh Wadel.

Janet was retired from the dining hall at Shippensburg University, where she worked for many years as a cook. She was a member of the Shippensburg Minnequa Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168.

She is survived by three sons, Richard “Turtle” (Joanne) Bard, Jerry (Tiffany) Bard, and Jim (Angela) Bard; five grandchildren, Todd Bard, Kelly Bard, Rebecca Black, Savannah George, and Grace Bard; and three great-grandchildren, Ally, Taylor, and Morgan.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #421, 28 Shepherd Rd, Newville, PA 17241.
