Shippensburg University’s wrestling team opened its 2019-20 dual meet schedule Wednesday night with a victory at NCAA Division III opponent Elizabethtown. The Red Raiders won seven of the nine contested bouts, defeating the Blue Jays 25-13 from Thompson Gymnasium.

Shippensburg (1-0) overcame a forfeit at 125 pounds with decisions at each of the next four weight classes. Sophomore Jake Downing won 4-3 at 133. Sophomore Matt Milbrand won 10-4 at 141. Redshirt-junior DeAndre Reed won 9-2 at 149, and redshirt-junior Pat Duggan won 10-6 at 157.

At 174 pounds, sophomore Colton Babcock scored his second pin of the young season and the fourth of his career with a victory by fall just 23 seconds into the third period of his match.

At 197 pounds, redshirt-sophomore Austin Klucker wrestled up a weight class to win 8-6.
