CHAMBERSBURG (Sept. 15, 2019) — Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter has lots of adorable pets who are looking for forever homes.

CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoptions at the shelter.

Pets find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons and in need of a new home and a second chance. So if you are looking for a new furry best friend, check out our many residents. Any of them would make a great pet and wonderful companion.

Claudia: One Bossy Chihuahua

  • Claudia is a Bossy Chihuahua
  • Claudia

Wait until you hear about Claudia. What a sweetheart she is. She came into the shelter as a stray, so we don’t know much about where she came from, but we bet it’s quite a story.

Claudia is a Chihuahua and we think she’s about 12 years old. When she first arrived, she had a very bad skin infection (that we’re still working on) and dental issues. She had some teeth pulled, which left her with very little teeth. We don’t know what happened to her eye but it doesn’t bother her. We’re fairly certain she can’t see out of it, but it doesn’t slow her down.

Claudia likes to be the boss. She can be aloof with strangers, but once she gets to know you, she’s a lovebug. Because of this bossy tendency, there may be an age restriction for children, so talk to shelter staff about that.

We’re looking for someone who understands what it’s like to live with a bossy Chihuahua. If that’s you, come meet Claudia!

Diana came into the shelter as a stray after she decided to make a home in someone’s garage. No one came to claim her, so now she’s looking for a second chance. We think she’s about 4 years old and she is quite the window watcher. If you’re looking for a special companion, she might be your girl!
