CHAMBERSBURG — A new Citizens Police Academy class begins in July, sponsored by the Chambersburg Police Department.

It will be an opportunity for ordinary citizens who are not sworn police officers to learn how the department works and what their officers do on a day to day basis.

The deadline to apply for the 2019 academy is 5 p.m. June 7.

Classes will run from July 9 through August 1.  The academy does not require a full-time commitment from its citizen students, however.
