CHAMBERSBURG — Visitors to the downtown Farmer’s Market will have a chance to interact with Chambersburg Police Department officers today.

“It’s a beautiful day to meet and hang out with your local police officers,” the department said in a CRIMEWATCH® post.

Police officers will be staffing a booth at the market all morning until noon, greeting and interacting with the public. Officers will also pass out information about resources available to the public through their department.

From July 13-20, 2019, Chambersburg, PA will be bustling with activity for the 33rd Annual ChambersFest community celebration.

The booth is part of the department’s community policing effort. The North Square Farmer’s Market is located at Chambers Fort Park in downtown Chambersburg.

It is one of many events today that kick off the community’s 33rd annual ChamberFest celebration. In addition to the downtown Farmer’s Market, the Cook Memorial 1 Mile Race/Walk took place this morning.

The all-you-can-eat Scoop-A-Palooza ice cream festival begins at 11 a.m. today and runs through 3 p.m. at Chambersburg Area Senior High school.

Tickets are availed at the door.

ChambersFest continues with a variety of activities through July 20, when Old Market Day draws thousands downtown for a street festival. It ends with a re-enactment of the burning of Chambersburg by Confederate troops during the Civil War.
