WAYNESBORO — Police have apprehended either an escapee from a local detention center or a local foster home. Or perhaps just someone’s lost pet.

The Waynesboro Police Department took possession of a bearded dragon that was found in an alley near Ridge Avenue Thursday evening.

The bearded dragon is scientifically known as Pogona Vitticeps and usually 12 – 24 inches in length from head to tail.

Although native to Australia, they are now bred in captivity for the pet market. They are among the most popular of reptile pets.

If you are the owner of this lizard please contact the Waynesboro Police Department at 717-762-2131.
